Dog's Health
Dogs without up-to-date vaccinations will not be allowed in the venue.
No dogs with infectious diseases (or dogs that have been in contact with other infected dogs) allowed in the venue.
Training Practices
Training will take place in all weathers, so please wear suitable footwear and clothing. Footwear is important, football boots should be worn especially in wet conditions, otherwise trainers.
Please allow for adverse weather conditions when running your dogs.
Should a dog be too aggressive or uncontrollable (not able to work off lead and under full control) within a class situation, the value of your course will be transferred towards private lessons.
Reward your dog (with toy/food/praise) whenever it does something you want it to.
All dogs progress at different rates, so do not get disheartened if your dog does not get something straight away. If you feel you have a problem developing you can speak to your instructors or always book one to one lesson with Sue White.
Some dogs take up more time in a class than others, but it will even up over the weeks, and you will always get your turn.
Try different handling techniques, do not be afraid to repeat an exercise if you want to try again or improve your run, just ask your instructor.
It is important to have good basic skills and communications with your dog. Nothing is achieved by getting angry with yourself or your dog.
A dog will only learn by repeating an exercise correctly.
It is always advisable to go back to a simple exercise to remind your dog, and build confidence in both of you. You can always put your dog on lead to correct problems and break an exercise down.
Never be afraid to ask questions.
Please keep your eye on the notice board in the Waiting room.
Please remember agility should be fun and even more so for your dog.
